Practical Circuit Breaker Operation

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through insulation testing and substation operation on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with condition monitoring, arc flash assessment and variable speed drives in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Explain condition monitoring to someone who does not do the work, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
  • Bring arc flash assessment into line with current good practice
  • Take ownership of variable speed drives rather than escalating it
  • Review motor control centres and say plainly whether it is working
