Practical Instrumentation and Control

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through arc flash assessment and load flow analysis on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with transformer maintenance, electrical fault analysis and variable speed drives in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Improve transformer maintenance within their own organisation, measured against the SANS wiring code
  • Put electrical fault analysis on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
  • Bring variable speed drives into line with current good practice
  • Spot where standby generation is failing before it becomes a finding

What the course covers
