Practical Motor Control Centres

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through motor control centres and cable fault location on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with variable speed drives, condition monitoring and switchgear maintenance in their own organisation.

  • Explain variable speed drives to someone who does not do the work, measured against IEC standards
  • Review condition monitoring and say plainly whether it is working
  • Put switchgear maintenance on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
