Practical Public Sector Ethics Investigations

Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through council procedure and intergovernmental relations on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: service delivery failures usually trace back to planning rather than to budget, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with grant management, supply chain compliance in government and records management in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Explain grant management to someone who does not do the work, measured against the Municipal Systems Act
  • Bring supply chain compliance in government into line with current good practice
  • Spot where records management is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Take ownership of irregular expenditure rather than escalating it
