Practical Transformer Maintenance
Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through circuit breaker operation and switchgear maintenance on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with power factor correction, substation operation and variable speed drives in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Take ownership of power factor correction rather than escalating it, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
- Explain substation operation to someone who does not do the work
- Spot where variable speed drives is failing before it becomes a finding
- Improve motor control centres within their own organisation
What the course covers
- Circuit breaker operation
- Switchgear maintenance
- Power factor correction
- Substation operation
- Variable speed drives
- Motor control centres
- Electrical fault analysis
Who should attend
- engineering managers
- plant supervisors
- electrical engineers
