Proficiency Testing for Non-Specialists

Laboratory and Quality Management|2 days|Classroom or live online

Proficiency Testing for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through reagent management and equipment calibration without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because method validation is frequently treated as paperwork rather than as evidence, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with measurement uncertainty, proficiency testing and accreditation preparation in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Take ownership of measurement uncertainty rather than escalating it, measured against good laboratory practice
  • Review proficiency testing and say plainly whether it is working
  • Bring accreditation preparation into line with current good practice
  • Make a decision about quality management systems without waiting for a specialist
