Protection Systems Auditing and Assurance

This programme is written from the assurance side. Delegates learn to test whether motor control centres and protection relays are working as claimed, and how to evidence the conclusion. Assurance work is under scrutiny because ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for. Delegates leave able to work confidently with substation operation, circuit breaker operation and electrical safety procedure in their own organisation.

- Explain substation operation to someone who does not do the work, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Review circuit breaker operation and say plainly whether it is working
- Improve electrical safety procedure within their own organisation
- Put lockout and tagout on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
