Public Sector Financial Management: Tools and Techniques
Finance and Accounting|3 days|Classroom or live online
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through deferred tax and financial statement preparation on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: boards increasingly expect finance to explain the business, not only report on it, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with internal controls, financial instruments and consolidation in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Bring internal controls into line with current good practice, measured against IFRS
- Spot where financial instruments is failing before it becomes a finding
- Take ownership of consolidation rather than escalating it
- Put cash flow forecasting on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
