Public Sector Supply Chain Management: Tools and Techniques

Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through intergovernmental relations and records management on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: service delivery failures usually trace back to planning rather than to budget, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with irregular expenditure, public finance management and integrated development planning in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put irregular expenditure on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the MFMA
  • Bring public finance management into line with current good practice
  • Review integrated development planning and say plainly whether it is working
  • Take ownership of ethics in the public service rather than escalating it
