Records Management for Managers

Public Sector and Municipal Management|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers supply chain compliance in government and performance management in government from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because service delivery failures usually trace back to planning rather than to budget, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with public participation, irregular expenditure and grant management in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Take ownership of public participation rather than escalating it, measured against the Batho Pele principles
  • Review irregular expenditure and say plainly whether it is working
  • Bring grant management into line with current good practice
  • Put ethics in the public service on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
