Report Writing for Non-Specialists

Communications and Public Relations|2 days|Classroom or live online

Report Writing for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through reputation measurement and internal communication without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because spokespeople are frequently appointed without ever having been trained, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with speech writing, crisis communication and media relations in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Review speech writing and say plainly whether it is working, measured against recognised crisis communication protocols
  • Put crisis communication on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
  • Take ownership of media relations rather than escalating it
  • Make a decision about brand positioning without waiting for a specialist
