Risk Appetite and Tolerance for Managers

Risk and Compliance|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers risk appetite and tolerance and third party risk from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because boards are being asked to evidence oversight, not merely assert it, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with regulatory reporting, crisis management and fraud risk management in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Explain regulatory reporting to someone who does not do the work, measured against the Basel framework
  • Take ownership of crisis management rather than escalating it
  • Spot where fraud risk management is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Put combined assurance on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
