Skills Development in the Public Sector

Human Resources|3 days|Classroom or live online

Skills Development in the Public Sector takes the discipline and works it through the constraints of this operating context, including performance management, employee relations and the compliance obligations that come with it. The sector framing is necessary because labour relations exposure now sits alongside financial risk on most executive agendas, and generic training rarely survives contact with the local rules. Delegates leave able to work confidently with grievance handling, employment equity reporting and talent acquisition in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Improve grievance handling within their own organisation, measured against the Skills Development Act
  • Explain employment equity reporting to someone who does not do the work
  • Bring talent acquisition into line with current good practice
  • Review remuneration and benefits and say plainly whether it is working
