Standby Power Systems Auditing and Assurance
Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online
This programme is written from the assurance side. Delegates learn to test whether earthing and bonding and power factor correction are working as claimed, and how to evidence the conclusion. Assurance work is under scrutiny because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal. Delegates leave able to work confidently with insulation testing, electrical fault analysis and protection relays in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Put insulation testing on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Review electrical fault analysis and say plainly whether it is working
- Explain protection relays to someone who does not do the work
- Spot where switchgear maintenance is failing before it becomes a finding
