Strategic Public Finance Management
Public Sector and Municipal Management|5 days|Classroom or live online
Strategic Public Finance Management looks at this work from the level at which it is resourced and defended. The focus is on integrated development planning, records management and how both connect to what the organisation is actually trying to achieve. This matters at the strategic level because officials are held personally accountable under legislation many have never been trained on. Delegates leave able to work confidently with council procedure, consequence management and service delivery planning in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Bring council procedure into line with current good practice, measured against the PFMA
- Spot where consequence management is failing before it becomes a finding
- Take ownership of service delivery planning rather than escalating it
- Make a decision about ethics in the public service without waiting for a specialist
