Substation Operation for Small and Medium Enterprises

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

Substation Operation for Small and Medium Enterprises takes the discipline and works it through the constraints of this operating context, including motor control centres, protection relays and the compliance obligations that come with it. The sector framing is necessary because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and generic training rarely survives contact with the local rules. Delegates leave able to work confidently with earthing and bonding, variable speed drives and lockout and tagout in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Make a decision about earthing and bonding without waiting for a specialist, measured against IEC standards
  • Take ownership of variable speed drives rather than escalating it
  • Spot where lockout and tagout is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Put electrical fault analysis on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
