Supply Chain Risk for Non-Specialists

Procurement and Supply Chain|2 days|Classroom or live online

Supply Chain Risk for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through category management and supplier development without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because procurement decisions are now audited for process as closely as for price, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with supplier relationship management, ethical sourcing and inventory optimisation in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Take ownership of supplier relationship management rather than escalating it, measured against the CIPS professional standard
  • Review ethical sourcing and say plainly whether it is working
  • Make a decision about inventory optimisation without waiting for a specialist
  • Explain warehouse operations to someone who does not do the work
