Switchgear Maintenance for Non-Specialists
Electrical and Power Engineering|2 days|Classroom or live online
Switchgear Maintenance for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through substation operation and lockout and tagout without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with electrical fault analysis, variable speed drives and condition monitoring in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Improve electrical fault analysis within their own organisation, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Put variable speed drives on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
- Bring condition monitoring into line with current good practice
- Review power factor correction and say plainly whether it is working
