Switchgear Maintenance in the Public Sector
Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online
Switchgear Maintenance in the Public Sector takes the discipline and works it through the constraints of this operating context, including earthing and bonding, motor control centres and the compliance obligations that come with it. The sector framing is necessary because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and generic training rarely survives contact with the local rules. Delegates leave able to work confidently with power factor correction, switchgear maintenance and transformer maintenance in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Explain power factor correction to someone who does not do the work, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Review switchgear maintenance and say plainly whether it is working
- Spot where transformer maintenance is failing before it becomes a finding
- Improve circuit breaker operation within their own organisation
