Switchgear Maintenance Reporting and Analytics

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

Switchgear Maintenance Reporting and Analytics focuses on the measurement layer: what to count, what it means and how to present it. Delegates work through earthing and bonding and cable fault location and the reporting built on top of them. The reporting layer matters because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal. Delegates leave able to work confidently with variable speed drives, electrical safety procedure and protection relays in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Review variable speed drives and say plainly whether it is working, measured against the SANS wiring code
  • Explain electrical safety procedure to someone who does not do the work
  • Make a decision about protection relays without waiting for a specialist
  • Take ownership of standby generation rather than escalating it
