Transformer Maintenance: Tools and Techniques

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through motor control centres and variable speed drives on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with load flow analysis, condition monitoring and switchgear maintenance in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Take ownership of load flow analysis rather than escalating it, measured against IEC standards
  • Improve condition monitoring within their own organisation
  • Review switchgear maintenance and say plainly whether it is working
  • Bring power factor correction into line with current good practice

What the course covers

  • Motor control centres
  • Variable speed drives
  • Load flow analysis
  • Condition monitoring
  • Switchgear maintenance
  • Power factor correction
  • Electrical fault analysis

Who should attend
