Variable Speed Drives for Managers

Electrical and Power Engineering|3 days|Classroom or live online

This programme is for the person accountable for the work rather than the person doing it. It covers condition monitoring and circuit breaker operation from the position of someone who must review, approve and answer for the output. Managers carry this because maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and the accountability does not delegate cleanly. Delegates leave able to work confidently with switchgear maintenance, insulation testing and standby generation in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put switchgear maintenance on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Bring insulation testing into line with current good practice
  • Explain standby generation to someone who does not do the work
  • Improve motor control centres within their own organisation
