Advanced Instrumentation and Control

5 days|Delivered on request

This advanced programme assumes delegates already work in the field. It goes past the basics into electrical fault analysis, cable fault location and the judgement calls that sit outside the SANS wiring code. At this level the constraint is rarely knowledge. It is judgement under pressure, which matters because ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for. Delegates leave able to work confidently with power factor correction, variable speed drives and protection relays in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Review power factor correction and say plainly whether it is working, measured against the SANS wiring code
  • Make a decision about variable speed drives without waiting for a specialist
  • Improve protection relays within their own organisation
  • Put insulation testing on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
