Protection Systems: Tools and Techniques
3 days|Delivered on request
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through protection relays and circuit breaker operation on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with insulation testing, power factor correction and variable speed drives in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Improve insulation testing within their own organisation, measured against IEC standards
- Review power factor correction and say plainly whether it is working
- Take ownership of variable speed drives rather than escalating it
- Bring electrical safety procedure into line with current good practice
