Condition Monitoring: Tools and Techniques

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through transformer maintenance and load flow analysis on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with earthing and bonding, arc flash assessment and protection relays in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Improve earthing and bonding within their own organisation, measured against the SANS wiring code
  • Make a decision about arc flash assessment without waiting for a specialist
  • Spot where protection relays is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Put circuit breaker operation on a footing they can defend to a reviewer

What the course covers

  • Arc flash assessment
  • Protection relays
  • Circuit breaker operation
  • Switchgear maintenance
