Data Analysis: Tools and Techniques
3 days|Delivered on request
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through data modelling and statistical fundamentals on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: analysts are frequently self taught in the tool and untrained in the reasoning, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with self service analytics, SQL querying and visual encoding choices in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Explain self service analytics to someone who does not do the work, measured against established visualisation principles
- Take ownership of SQL querying rather than escalating it
- Make a decision about visual encoding choices without waiting for a specialist
- Put data governance on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
