Earthing and Bonding for Non-Specialists

2 days|Delivered on request

Earthing and Bonding for Non-Specialists is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through arc flash assessment and lockout and tagout without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with cable fault location, load flow analysis and transformer maintenance in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Improve cable fault location within their own organisation, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Put load flow analysis on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
  • Explain transformer maintenance to someone who does not do the work
  • Make a decision about insulation testing without waiting for a specialist
