Electrical Safety: Tools and Techniques

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through earthing and bonding and switchgear maintenance on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with insulation testing, protection relays and standby generation in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Make a decision about insulation testing without waiting for a specialist, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
  • Explain protection relays to someone who does not do the work
  • Review standby generation and say plainly whether it is working
  • Put transformer maintenance on a footing they can defend to a reviewer

What the course covers
