Advanced High Voltage Operation

5 days|Delivered on request

This advanced programme assumes delegates already work in the field. It goes past the basics into arc flash assessment, power factor correction and the judgement calls that sit outside recognised arc flash assessment practice. At this level the constraint is rarely knowledge. It is judgement under pressure, which matters because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal. Delegates leave able to work confidently with protection relays, insulation testing and standby generation in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Improve protection relays within their own organisation, measured against recognised arc flash assessment practice
  • Explain insulation testing to someone who does not do the work
  • Put standby generation on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
  • Review transformer maintenance and say plainly whether it is working
