Internal Controls: Tools and Techniques
3 days|Delivered on request
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through cost allocation and deferred tax on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: reporting standards keep moving and finance teams carry the consequence of getting them wrong, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with consolidation, revenue recognition and impairment testing in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Take ownership of consolidation rather than escalating it, measured against the Companies Act
- Bring revenue recognition into line with current good practice
- Make a decision about impairment testing without waiting for a specialist
- Spot where financial statement preparation is failing before it becomes a finding
