Power Factor Correction Masterclass

5 days|Delivered on request

This advanced programme assumes delegates already work in the field. It goes past the basics into switchgear maintenance, variable speed drives and the judgement calls that sit outside the SANS wiring code. At this level the constraint is rarely knowledge. It is judgement under pressure, which matters because ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for. Delegates leave able to work confidently with protection relays, load flow analysis and lockout and tagout in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Make a decision about protection relays without waiting for a specialist, measured against the SANS wiring code
  • Bring load flow analysis into line with current good practice
  • Review lockout and tagout and say plainly whether it is working
  • Improve cable fault location within their own organisation

What the course covers

  • Switchgear maintenance
  • Variable speed drives
