Practical Business Intelligence
3 days|Delivered on request
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through pivot table analysis and dashboard design on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: reporting effort scales badly when the underlying model is wrong, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with KPI definition, visual encoding choices and data modelling in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Take ownership of KPI definition rather than escalating it, measured against dimensional modelling practice
- Explain visual encoding choices to someone who does not do the work
- Improve data modelling within their own organisation
- Bring self service analytics into line with current good practice
