Practical Consequence Management

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through council procedure and integrated development planning on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: officials are held personally accountable under legislation many have never been trained on, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with audit action planning, asset management and intergovernmental relations in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Bring audit action planning into line with current good practice, measured against the PFMA
  • Explain asset management to someone who does not do the work
  • Review intergovernmental relations and say plainly whether it is working
  • Put consequence management on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
