Practical Council and Committee Procedure
3 days|Delivered on request
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through supply chain compliance in government and irregular expenditure on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: audit outcomes have become the dominant measure of municipal performance, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with council procedure, audit action planning and public participation in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Spot where council procedure is failing before it becomes a finding, measured against the Batho Pele principles
- Take ownership of audit action planning rather than escalating it
- Explain public participation to someone who does not do the work
- Improve consequence management within their own organisation
