Practical Fraud Detection and Prevention

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through financial statement preparation and treasury operations on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: boards increasingly expect finance to explain the business, not only report on it, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with revenue recognition, management accounting and lease accounting in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Put revenue recognition on a footing they can defend to a reviewer, measured against GRAP for public entities
  • Take ownership of management accounting rather than escalating it
  • Review lease accounting and say plainly whether it is working
  • Explain consolidation to someone who does not do the work
