Practical High Voltage Operation

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through substation operation and variable speed drives on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with standby generation, power factor correction and insulation testing in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Take ownership of standby generation rather than escalating it, measured against IEC standards
  • Improve power factor correction within their own organisation
  • Spot where insulation testing is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Bring protection relays into line with current good practice

What the course covers
