Practical Standby Power Systems
3 days|Delivered on request
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through arc flash assessment and earthing and bonding on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with circuit breaker operation, insulation testing and power factor correction in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Review circuit breaker operation and say plainly whether it is working, measured against IEC standards
- Take ownership of insulation testing rather than escalating it
- Bring power factor correction into line with current good practice
- Improve lockout and tagout within their own organisation
