Switchgear Maintenance Masterclass

5 days|Delivered on request

This advanced programme assumes delegates already work in the field. It goes past the basics into load flow analysis, power factor correction and the judgement calls that sit outside the SANS wiring code. At this level the constraint is rarely knowledge. It is judgement under pressure, which matters because ageing plant is being asked to carry loads it was never specified for. Delegates leave able to work confidently with earthing and bonding, motor control centres and electrical safety procedure in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Spot where earthing and bonding is failing before it becomes a finding, measured against the SANS wiring code
  • Review motor control centres and say plainly whether it is working
  • Take ownership of electrical safety procedure rather than escalating it
  • Improve protection relays within their own organisation

What the course covers

  • Load flow analysis
  • Power factor correction
  • Earthing and bonding
