Fundamentals of Arc Flash Safety

2 days|Delivered on request

Fundamentals of Arc Flash Safety is built for delegates who need to be useful in this area quickly. It starts at first principles and works through insulation testing and load flow analysis without assuming prior specialist training. The programme exists because electrical incidents are among the few workplace risks that are immediately fatal, and because capability in this area is usually built on the job with no structure behind it. Delegates leave able to work confidently with motor control centres, cable fault location and protection relays in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Bring motor control centres into line with current good practice, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Spot where cable fault location is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Make a decision about protection relays without waiting for a specialist
  • Review electrical safety procedure and say plainly whether it is working
