Occupational Health and Safety: Tools and Techniques

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through legal appointments and duties and environmental impact assessment on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: environmental obligations are increasingly enforced against named individuals, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with personal protective equipment, permit to work systems and hazard identification in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Take ownership of personal protective equipment rather than escalating it, measured against ISO 14001
  • Review permit to work systems and say plainly whether it is working
  • Explain hazard identification to someone who does not do the work
  • Make a decision about safety management systems without waiting for a specialist
