Practical Cable Fault Location

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through circuit breaker operation and condition monitoring on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: maintenance teams are increasingly expected to diagnose equipment they did not commission, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with insulation testing, lockout and tagout and protection relays in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Review insulation testing and say plainly whether it is working, measured against the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Spot where lockout and tagout is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Make a decision about protection relays without waiting for a specialist
  • Take ownership of electrical safety procedure rather than escalating it
