Public Participation: Tools and Techniques
3 days|Delivered on request
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through consequence management and asset management on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: audit outcomes have become the dominant measure of municipal performance, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with annual reporting, performance management in government and ethics in the public service in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Spot where annual reporting is failing before it becomes a finding, measured against the Batho Pele principles
- Explain performance management in government to someone who does not do the work
- Put ethics in the public service on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
- Improve audit action planning within their own organisation
