Budgeting and Forecasting: Tools and Techniques

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through audit readiness and working capital management on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: boards increasingly expect finance to explain the business, not only report on it, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with capital budgeting, financial modelling and cost allocation in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Bring capital budgeting into line with current good practice, measured against GRAP for public entities
  • Improve financial modelling within their own organisation
  • Review cost allocation and say plainly whether it is working
  • Take ownership of budgeting and variance analysis rather than escalating it
