Practical Category Management
3 days|Delivered on request
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through ethical sourcing and spend analysis on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: procurement decisions are now audited for process as closely as for price, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with supplier relationship management, demand planning and contract negotiation in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Spot where supplier relationship management is failing before it becomes a finding, measured against the PFMA and MFMA supply chain regulations
- Bring demand planning into line with current good practice
- Review contract negotiation and say plainly whether it is working
- Take ownership of bid adjudication rather than escalating it
