Practical Grant Management
3 days|Delivered on request
This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through council procedure and service delivery planning on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: officials are held personally accountable under legislation many have never been trained on, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with annual reporting, revenue management and grant management in their own organisation.
What delegates leave able to do
- Take ownership of annual reporting rather than escalating it, measured against the PFMA
- Explain revenue management to someone who does not do the work
- Bring grant management into line with current good practice
- Put public finance management on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
