Practical Programme Management

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through agile and scrum practice and work breakdown structure on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: most project failure is visible in the schedule long before it is admitted in the status report, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with resource planning, quality assurance and risk registers in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Spot where resource planning is failing before it becomes a finding, measured against earned value management
  • Take ownership of quality assurance rather than escalating it
  • Put risk registers on a footing they can defend to a reviewer
  • Make a decision about scope definition without waiting for a specialist
