Practical Project Management Fundamentals

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through work breakdown structure and lessons learned on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: most project failure is visible in the schedule long before it is admitted in the status report, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with project initiation, portfolio prioritisation and scope definition in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Review project initiation and say plainly whether it is working, measured against agile delivery practice
  • Spot where portfolio prioritisation is failing before it becomes a finding
  • Take ownership of scope definition rather than escalating it
  • Improve stakeholder communication within their own organisation
