Programme Management: Tools and Techniques

3 days|Delivered on request

This is a hands-on programme. Delegates spend most of the time working through risk registers and agile and scrum practice on live scenarios rather than listening to theory about them. The practical emphasis is deliberate: most project failure is visible in the schedule long before it is admitted in the status report, and reading about the method has repeatedly proved insufficient. Delegates leave able to work confidently with benefits realisation, critical path analysis and project closure in their own organisation.

What delegates leave able to do

  • Spot where benefits realisation is failing before it becomes a finding, measured against earned value management
  • Bring critical path analysis into line with current good practice
  • Take ownership of project closure rather than escalating it
  • Explain project initiation to someone who does not do the work
